The very high requirements for a turbo machine for fuel cells include: directly drive, high speed stability, aerodynamic bearing, small size and low weight.

The performance map of the turbo machine should reflect a high pressure ratio and a wide mass flow range. In addition, the turbo machine must be optimally matched to the operating conditions of the fuel cell and meet the requirements of the integrators and OEMs of fuel cell systems.

The high-speed technology offers a number of advantages, such as minimum size, low weight and optimal process control. Together with the aerodynamic bearing, it provides the basis for further developments and products, especially in the fuel cell area.
